THE ANONYMOUS VOYAGE IN BARING LIFE
Publication Design: Monothematic publication
(2023 Swinburne University Assignment)
The Anonymous Voyage in Baring Life examines the notion of 'non-places', where busy environments create anonymous people These settings, such as airport terminals, hospitals, movie theatres, and retail malls, are distinguished by a lack of meaningful social connection, which fosters feelings of anonymity and emptiness.
The publication's goal is to portray this sensation of alienation through striking pictures and simple yet effective design that emphasise the isolation inherent in these places. By delving into issues of alienation and the search for identity, it encourages readers to reflect on their own experiences in non-places, resulting in a better understanding of the emotional ramifications of living in a world marked by transience and separation. Finally, it serves as a reflection on the value of connection and belonging in our lives.
